Royals and Orioles, Yankees Pitching, McIlroy and the Masters, Bulls-Magic
Is it bad that I'm secretly rooting for the Royals and the Orioles? I know I have a better chance of the NFL lockout ending before the draft, but how great would it be for a small market team like the Royals to set the big boys on their asses?
Aside from the Mets winning the World Series, nothing would make happier than watching Yankees fans' disappointment as the Royals celebrate and ALCS win at Yankee Stadium.
I know, I'm fantasizing- but a guy can dream can't he?
How concerned are the Yankees about their pitching situation? They've given Carlos Silva a minor league contract.
Yes, this guy.
I realize it's a minor league contract, but I am a firm believer that where there's smoke, there's usually fire and if the reports about his exit from the Chicago Cubs are true, can anyone really justify taking a chance on a possible locker room cancer like Silva?
Again, maybe he'll never set foot in Yankee stadium and I just wasted a lot of pixels. But if I was Yankees GM Brian Cashman I would look elsewhere.
Rory McIlroy looks like he could do it. The problem is there's one last round to play today and only 21-year old Tiger Woods was able to pull off such a feat at so young an age.
Besides McIlroy making feel old by saying his earliest memories of the Masters was that first Tiger win (I was in college), I love it when the young bucks teach the older guys a lesson. It makes a nice story.
Don't miss the must-see Bulls-Magic matchup at 1:00 ET on ABC. This figures to be an amazing playoff series whenever it happens and today gives up a sneak-peak.
The Bulls have the backcourt advantage, the Magic counter with a more impressive frontcourt. Even if it really just consists of Dwight Howard using his shoulders to just out-muscle everyone.
The Lakers-Thunder game on NBA TV later tonight also would be a good watch, if I wasn't sure the Lakers were going to roll over and pretend like they've never played for Phil Jackson before.
