Warren Moon Is A Jackass

Hall Of Fame quarterback Warren Moon says criticism of Auburn quarterback Cam Newton is racially motivated.

I'm sorry, what?

To be more exact, Moon was apparently referring to criticisms of Newton's smile and that Newton was fake. Moon was apparently basing his opinion on the fact that none of the other quarterbacks are being judged on these characteristics.

Here's a thought Warren: maybe none of the other quarterbacks made comments saying they wanted to be "an entertainer and an icon". Maybe none of the other quarterbacks give the feeling they're putting on a dog and pony show every time they talk to them.

Of course racism exists everywhere, but I think the evidence Moon puts out is pretty thin and doesn't come close to supportive his claims.

Moon thinks Newton is being unfairly compared to JaMarcus Russell. Why is that unfair? Russell had all the traits of bring a can't miss franchise quarterback but ultimately turned out to be self-absorbed and a mess on the field. If Newton is putting out those vibes with poor answers to whoever is evaluating him, it may be unfortunate but far from unfair.

In my mind, he only Warren I've ever trusted is the one who was looking for his baseball in "There's Something About Mary". The only thing separating Moon from that Warren in regards to this issue is Moon walking around the room repeatedly chanting "franks and beans!"

In summation kids, the world has no idea what Cam Newton will be in the NFL. From what I've read, sounds like the kid's bombing his interviews. Who's mentoring this kid, anyways?

Oh, wait, that's right: Moon is.
