So in case you didn't notice, the Bears kinda solidified heir argument that they belong in the conversation of best team in the NFC.

We'll learn a lot more about them in two weeks when they face the New England Patriots. However yesterday showed us a team who ran and passed when needed and then used their defense to choke off any possible reprisals.

Last time I checked, kids, that's what championship teams when they play other championship caliber teams. That is, when they wear their big boy pants of course.

MVP candidate Michael Vick was contained all day and his lone highlight was a perfectly placed ball in the end zone around three Bear defenders. If Brian Urlacher lowered his arm an inch or two he deflects that pass. Tip your cap, but it is what it is.

Folks in the peanut gallery are running out of reasons to not believe, and that suits the Bears just fine if no one ever converts.

They play better with a chip on their shoulder.

SO NFL, HOW'S THAT CARDS-NINERS MATCHUP working out for you? The impending ratings letdown may just be why Texans WR Andre Johnson wasn't suspended and only fined for his fisticuffs with Cortland Finnegan Sunday.

Finnegan may be a dirty, cheap player but Johnson ripped his helmet off and then proceeds to pound him into submission.

However the funniest footnote came today when Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said with a straight face that Finnegan didn't fight back and kept his composure. Really?! No, really?!

The only question is how long Manny Paquiao can duck Johnson?

THE HEAT IS ON MIAMI HEAD COACH Eric Spoelstra with sources now reporting that Heat players are questioning whether he's the right guy to steer the ship..

Strangely enough, I haven't heard a comment from Pat Riley yet.

Here's some free advice Eric: don't go on any long trips. And beware of suspicious fishing trip invites.

Trivia question: The last time two 3-7 teams met on Monday Night Football was?

Trivia answer: who gives a shit?!
