Why I Want the Giants to Win The World Series
I woke up this morning and ran downstairs to check if someone had mysteriously assembled my Christmas tree and arranged various expensive presents under it. I could have sworn it was Christmas Day.
I mean, the other night I watch the Yankees get sent packing in assertive fashion and last night the Phillies get dismissed in Philadelphia. Not to mention that it sets up the World Series matchup I've wanted since the playoffs began, but the fact that Philly trash had to be disappointed in person makes it that much more satisfying.
Let's be open and honest here: obviously not all Philadelphia fans are trash. There are still friends and former co-workers of mine who live in that area and root openly for the Phillies. They are the exception because every other fan I've ever met is complete classless trash.
But anywho...Good thing the Giants have Lincecum pitching in San Francisco. It would be frightening to see the suddenly human Lincecum have to face 9 legitimate batters. At least now, he'll have American League pitchers who don't normally hit facing him every 2 or 3 innings.
I will say I'm conflicted about who I would like to see win more. No, I'm not faltering in my just-announced support for the Giants. There were however a lot of different factors that pulled me in various positions.
First, there was Cliff Lee. I mean, the guy has moved more than an escaped convict. The seemingly best pitcher nobody apparently wanted lands in Texas and helps them get off the list of franchises never to appear in a World Series. I mean, when the Tampa Bay Rays beat you to that punch, it's kind of important to get off that list. Ahem, Seattle?
Then there's the whole no-more-Barry-Bonds-in-San-Francisco angle. I hate Barry Bonds as a baseball player. For all the wonderful accomplishments before the head swelling, they are now moot as we are faced with the whole "I may have took steroids but I didn't know I was taking steroids" thing. Now, as I've written before, you almost want the Giants to win just to stick it in Bonds' derriere.
Bouncing the pendulum back the other way is the Josh Hamilton angle. Long story really short: Hamilton was once as far away from this moment as possible. Addiction and what not almost derailed not just a career, but a life. But what has sprouted out of what could have been tragic circumstances is not just a budding superstar career, but a locker room presence that has brought this team together.
When was the last time you heard of a team celebrating playoff series wins with ginger ale? The Rangers understood that Hamilton's history of addiction meant he couldn't be near anything with alcohol, so they consciously made the decision to celebrate sober. That wreaks of clubhouse unity few teams can claim.
However, in the end there was one factor that ultimately swayed me toward the Giants. If you missed this, you have to see it. It's the number one reason I'mpulling for the Giants in this series (the quality is crap, but it's thebest I could find):
Enough has been said about his "Just For Men" beard. Watch the videoagain and look in his eyes. He's crazier than a shithouse rat and he isinstantly in my top 10 favorite players.
Sure, he leads the National League in saves. Sure, he just got 5 outsto end the NLCS when 2 time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum faltered. Whocares?
He's as free as they come upstairs and Mr. Wilson, for that youhave my support.

There are certainly a variety of details like that to take into consideration. That could be a nice level to carry up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you deliver up the place the most important thing might be working in trustworthy good faith. I don?t know if greatest practices have emerged round things like that, however I'm positive that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Each girls and boys really feel the influence of just a moment’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives. .
