Grieve-ing Period 11-16-09
Seriously, what was Belichick thinking going for it on 4th and 2? Now before you go arguing about the spot, I'll tell you you're wrong. Faulk bobbled and where he hit the ground was where the ball should have been spotted.
For once, the refs got that one right.
I thought I had inadvertently jumped into an online Madden game where the guy on the other side of the internet refuses to punt regardless of the situation and just totally sucks the fun and strategy out of the game.
I still haven't picked my jaw up out of my lap after seeing Brady come on the field for that one. Although it might be that someone made dumber decisions than what the Bears would have done.
The Bills hung with the Tennessee Titans for all of one half, with their most prolific passing play coming out of the hand of their backup running back.
It really is comforting to watch teams that have it worse than the Bears.
Just to keep everyone grounded in reality, this was a Titans team that was on its second quarterback this season because their previous one failed to generate a win for the first 6 games. Vince Young didn't have to carry the team, he just had to stay out of Chris Johnson's way.
That he did, maybe the kid's got it now that he's endured a year of hell.
Saints-Pats will be a good game, but I don't really see anyone stopping New Orleans. It will be extremely hard for them to go undefeated, but I would not be surprised at all if they do it. Offensively, even when they're challenged, they're still putting up 25+ points.
Memo to Belichick: if it comes up again, punt.
The Bengals might just be for real. Sweeping the season series from Pittsburgh is no easy feat any year, let alone when they're the defending champs.
The 5th rated defense in the only stat that really matters: points per game goes along well with having the second leading rusher in the NFL. Oh yeah, there's still that Carson Palmer guy back there at quarterback.
Cedric Benson's resurgence has as much to do with the Bengals season as anything else. Now that he has a hip flexor strain, it will be more than curious to see if they roll on if he can't play.
True contenders roll on.
Memo to Andy Reid: when you're playing the team with the 26th ranked rush defense, and you throw the ball 55 times, and you lose- people are going to ask questions like "What the hell were you thinking?"
I mean seriously folks, I know McNabb has a good arm and can make things happen- but 55 times? Really??
I know you're wondering how many rushing attempts they had. That was 13.
If Westbrook's concussion didn't allow him to play 100%, he shouldn't be out there so don't use that as an excuse. This was another example of a coach totally over-thinking the situation and just screwing the whole thing up.
I wonder if Reid and Belichick will compare notes.
