Pride of the Torre's

Hello friends,

Greetings all. I am coming to you today from the snow covered confines of our home base in Rochester, New York with the bitter cold of another beautiful Rochester day biting at my fingers, my thoughts wander to a warm summer day and my precious Yankees.

Speaking of which, wouldn't you know the little squad from the Bronx has been in the news recently. I know its shocking, but their old skipper, Joe Torre, has a new book coming out. The title is "The Yankee Years", but it should have been called "You Want to Screw With Me, Well F%^K You!"

For those of you who may not be aware, for 12 wonderful seasons, Joe had managed the Yankees to 4 World Series titles, and for the most part 12 very successful years. Now during that time there was a fair share of disappointment and controversy, but not more than any other high profile sports franchise. During his tenure, most of the team's problems stemmed from horrible personnel moves by the GM and that fat, old bastard of an owner, George Steinbrenner.

Now with all his success, you would think Joe would have been welcome to coach indefinitely, but instead he was given a 33% pay cut, and told that the majority of his money would come by the way of incentives. So like anyone else would have done in the face of such disrespect, Joe left for the other coast and a home where he would be appreciated.

Along comes this book. It doesn't really tell any secrets we didn't already know, it just surprised everyone from who the information was coming from. Well it shouldn't. A man as respected and admired as Joe Torre should have the right to flip the bird to the arrogant bastards who screwed him over.

The new management of the Yankees have a couple of huge obstacles to overcome. The first one is that they are Steinbrenners, so they have the dumb asshole gene. The second is without Torre they are still stuck with a group of overpaid, overrated babies, with no one to watch them but another Joe, Joe Girardi. Unfortunately this Joe doesn't have half the talent of our beloved 'Grandpa Joe' Torre. Well this fan wishes you nothing but the best Mr. Torre, and hopes that the Yankees off load an A-Fraud and the rest of the bums that are sucking the life from our beloved Bronx Bombers.

Go Dodgers.........
